How we started

Precision Tree Care is a Peak District based tree surgery company, started by Sam, in 2002. After gaining his qualifications, Sam worked for three years on the Welbeck estate, near Worksop, in their forestry department.

Due to the age of the estate, Welbeck has some of the oldest, and largest trees in the country. This provided a wonderful setting to work in, and also valuable experience in how to deal with veteran trees. Sadly times change, and eventually the forestry work on the estate began to be contracted out. This in turn, provided an opportunity to start Precision Tree Care in earnest.

Thirteen years on, and here we are. Precision Tree Care is taking on some interesting and challenging projects all over the country. This is thanks in no small part, to the experience, skills and qualifications gained at Welbeck.

Our family team

Sam and his wife Sarah use the experience they've gained, along with the best equipment available to complete tasks in all areas of tree work. Along with a team of highly skilled workers, they are ideally placed to take anything from domestic tree pruning or removals, to large and complex projects all completed in a safe and efficient manner.

What we do

One of the nicest parts of arboriculture is the variety of jobs that we undertake. Our work is made up of domestic tree pruning, tree removals and stump grinding. We also carry out commercial projects for local authorities, the Peak District National Park, large private estates, schools and highway maintenance contractors. If traffic management is required for highway works, we will arrange this for you including permit applications.

Forestry is another aspect of Precision Tree Care that allows us to utilise our machinery and equipment. Mechanical and hand felling, biomass chipping, timber forwarding and tree planting are all services we provide. We are happy to arrange all the necessary permissions, felling licenses and SSSI consent on your behalf.
